About the track

"They didn't go to win. They went so everyone else could." 'The Price of Tomorrow' is a cinematic Nordic Folk Metal tribute to the 300 Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC). Standing at the Hot Gates against the Persian empire, their sacrifice bought the Greek city-states the precious time needed to turn the tide of history. βš”οΈ MUSIC CREDITS: Track: The Price of Tomorrow Genre: Nordic Folk Metal / Heavy Epic Rock Theme: Battle of Thermopylae / Ancient History --- πŸ“œ LYRICS: [Intro] (Instrumental) [Verse 1] Sun-burned grey where the cliffs meet the sea Xerxes' banners blocking every reach And out upon the straits, the wooden walls held tight Bronze rams carve fire through the morning light Between the mountain's teeth and the unforgiving sea 300 souls became tomorrow's shield [Pre-Chorus] No bard will remember each face in the dust No monument rises where brave men are crushed We cast away every tomorrow we're owed To buy one more sunrise for sons down the road [Chorus] They didn't go to win They went so everyone else could Standing where the last free cities stood 300 heartbeats against the crushing tide We chose the stones where our bodies would lie We die in the shadow so you walk in the sun The battle is lost, but the future is won! [Verse 2] Lightning split the heavens, Euboean waters boiled Persian hulls were broken on the reef and stone Stern turned inward, shields against the dark Bronze bent steel, a fire took the royal mark Splinters mixed with seafoam, the waves were running red Every oar stroke forward was paid for by a dead! [Pre-Chorus 2] Let the Persian arrows blot out the sky We marched here to bleed, we marched here to die For the child not yet born who will never know our name For the sleeping cities beyond these mountain chains This is the harvest of borrowed breath Spending our blood so the dawn could draw breath! [Bridge] The gates have broken! The king has fallen! Pull back the ships... To Salamis! [Guitar Solo] [Guitar Solo Continuation] [Verse 3] Let the centuries roll, let the empires fall But the wall of bones will outlast them all No marble remembers the price that was paid Only freemen still walk in the shelter we made But they stand... because we fell! [Chorus] They didn't go to win They went so everyone else could Standing where the last free cities stood 300 heartbeats against the crushing tide We chose the stones where our bodies would lie We die in the shadow so you walk in the sun The battle is lost, but the future is won! [Outro] 300... The price of tomorrow... Paid in full. --- πŸ”₯ If you enjoyed this track, hit LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and turn on NOTIFICATIONS for more epic historical folk metal! #NordicMetal #FolkMetal #Thermopylae #300Spartans #EpicMetal #CinematicMusic #AncientHistory
